Yesterday I went to a funeral service for someone I did not know. Let me explain... someone who works for my spouse , his mother died. I went with Hubby to show support for his coworkers and staff I did not know the mother who passed, but had I known her we may have been friends. Not much older than myself, inflicted with the big C for 15 years, with several years in between the doctors telling her : you won't make is past such and such year. that lasted 15 years. As I listened to the Pastor and her family and friends speak, I realize how much she trusted God and that her Faith kept her strong. Such a good person , placing God foremost in her life and living one day at a time. After all. today is simply the shadow of tomorrow. It reminded me that I have strayed from who I am and what God wants me to be. Humbling yes, guilty .... yep that too. I want to say that : life is short, tomorrow never promised and that I , myself need to let things go. Allow God to take the wheel and enjoy my "today's" and skip all the rest. Bathroom, laundry, floor, bills, chores... all these things will NOT be how people will remember you, It will be love, compassion, unselfishness, support, laughter.... all the things we should enjoy today, because God's plan super exceeds what we may think is our plan, because what He has in store for us should be enough. May Peace always envelope this family, knowing that Kimberly Dodge is most certainly in Heaven, well and pain free.

Kim was such a sweet and kind lady. The last time I saw her we talked about our battles with cancer. We both talked about how we were not afraid to die. We knew that we were headed straight to heaven and would be with Jesus in paradise forever. I shall meet you again in heaven sweet lady. So glad I got to know you. May God grant all of your family peace and comfort.

I will always remember Kim fondly as a calming presence when chaperoning the Japanese Club's Cherry Blossom Festival field trip. Her strong faith was evidenced by her every action.
May God grant her family peace as she enters His loving arms.

May God smile upon you during this most difficult time. Kim was a woman of great faith and I know that she is alright. I will always remember her wonderful smile and the love that she had for her students and the Art program. I will always remember our conversations about the love of God that we shared on numerous occasions. God Bless!!

My prayers are with everyone that knew Kim, especially her family. I am so very grateful for having had the pleasure of her letting me into her life. She taught me strength when she really needed it the most, compassion for all, enthusiasm, and most of all, to have faith in God, no matter what happens. I will truly miss her, but will never ever forget her.

May God hold Kim in the palm of His hand. I teach art in NNPS, and have a son, Mason, that attended her art class in 2013. I enjoyed very much talking to her that year, as my son has artistic talent as well. I am also from Buffalo, NY, and it was nice to hear a friendly "accent" and to talk about "home" with her at our staff meetings. May God bless you in this time of mourning.

I just wish to tell the Butler and Dodge families how sorry I am to hear of Kim's passing. I remember her fondly as Laura & Susie's "cool" big sister, and she looked so like her lovely mom. I know she struggled with health issues for years, and is now at peace. My best to the family in their adjustment to life without her physical presence. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

To the Dodge family, I first met Kim during a class we took and was immediately impressed by her talent as an artist. Then I got to know her; she was encouraging and kind to everyone and still an eager learner and we struck up a friendship. I had the privilege to work with her the last two years at Menchville, and I saw what a phenomenal teacher she was. She always went the extra mile for her students, even on the days her health was getting the best of her. I learned a lot from Kim myself, not just professionally, but about being "strong" in the face of adversity. Thank you Kim for your friendship, you will forever be missed!

Kim was one of the most caring and generous people I knew. Her sense of humor was great, and made my day a little brighter. She was an amazing teacher and showed her students what it was to be compassionate and passionate about art and life. She will be missed.

I am a science teacher at Menchville High School so I was located at the opposite side of the building; however, I saw Kim everday in the cafeteria as we picked up our lunches. She was always so friendly and upbeat. I miss our daily visits. Best wishes to your family during this difficult time.

Kim was one of the most phenomenal teachers and human beings that I've ever had the pleasure to know. Her dedication to her students and to our school made the building a better place. She clearly made an impact, as evidenced by her recongition as the Menchville Teacher of the Year last year. She will be forever missed. We are starting the Kimberly Dodge Art Award, an annual "scholarship" for one art student selected by our Art Department every year. God Bless to the entire Dodge family. You are in Menchville's thoughts and prayers.
