Melvin Johnson Obituary
He is survived by his mother and father, Melvin and Bobbie Johnson, Sr.
Under the guidance of his parents, at an early age Melvin became a member of the Rising Zion Baptist Church in Jeffersonton, Va. He attended the church under the leadership of Rev. Richard E. Garner. He was educated in the Culpeper County School system.
Melvin loved sports and was a devoted fan of the Washington Redskins. Melvin truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be truly missed.
Melvin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Viola and John Johnson, Sr. and William (Toot) Yates and Heyward Thomas Robinson.
Melvin leaves to cherish his memories, maternal grandmother, Lucille Yates; his daughter, Uniqua Johnson, of Culpeper, Va.; two sons: Melvin Quintell Johnson, of Culpeper, Va. and DeVaughn Cooper, Md.; five sisters: Pamela Jackson ( Roy), Tamika Veeney (Lindell), and Jamere Luckett all of Culpeper, Va. Lana Norman ( Curtis) of Maryland and Teresa Alexandria of N.C.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Association at 15044 Ryland Chapel Rd., Rixeyville, Va.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2010 at Horizon Funeral Home in Culpeper, Va.
Flowers may be sent to Horizon Funeral Home, 750 Old Brandy Rd., Culpeper.

Its been months on months & I still cant get my brah out my mind. Dang I miss this dude. I thank god for the time well spent growing up together in BIG Jeff. To put it short we seriously stoned the phrase "Brothers from different Mothers" completely! To his family left behind, know that your still in prayer.

Soo sorry for you loss. Its never understood why god has to take our loved ones away from us at the time that he does but I guess I have learned that everything he does is for a reason. There was never a dull moment with Melvin and he will truely be missed and never forgotten.

Boo" will be more then just missed. We grew up as sisters and brothers rather than cousins. It was a total of 12 cousins all together. He is the missing link to our chain, but I understand that God had to take you home,to be with him, I thank God for allowing us 35years with Boo! This is not a good bye, but a see you later, Boo!
