Edward 'Ned' Tierney Navy veteran, tavern owner Edward J. "Ned" Tierney, 81, passed away on Oct. 18, 2016. The funeral will be from the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park St., Montclair, N.J., on Oct. 22 at 9 a.m.; then to Saint Cassian Church, 187 Bellevue Ave., Upper Montclair, N.J., where at 10 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Interment is at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday. at the funeral home. Edward was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude Tierney; the devoted father of William; Mary Ellen and her husband, David Onofrio; Catherine, Edward R., James, John, and Michael. He will be remembered as a loving grandfather to 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Norinne and her husband, Dennis, and many nieces and nephews.
