To Mary Ann and children, my deepest sympathy goes out to you in this time of sorrow and the loss of Joe. I had the pleasure of working with him for 6 years before he retired from the Corps of Engineers and for a while when I was a member of Wesley Memorial. He was a great man and I always enjoyed being around him. He had a tremendous sense of humor and he truly loved his family. While this is a time of sadness, it is also a time when you can rejoice and celebrate the life that he lived and the wonderful times you had with him. He will be truly missed by all but we all know that he is in a much better place. I am currently working in Kabul, Afghanistan and will be unable to attend the funeral but know that my thoughts and prayers will be with you at that time.
