To Brad and Kevin,

I'm terribly sad to hear the news about your Dad. I always looked forward to seeing both your Mom and Dad at Green Lake. Boy, could your dad make me laugh! Stories about the sand hog and the "phantom" were the ones most dear to me.

Shorty Cochran was responsible for our family moving into the Bloomington Jefferson School District, & we can't thank him enough. My Dad (Skip Mooney) thought the world of Shorty & enjoyed many laughs with him!

A note of sympathy to the Cochran family from the Graf family. My Father, Robert Graf, and Shorty worked in the Jostens Yearbook division together. Dad laughed hardest when on the phone with Shorty, for that, I remember him.

To the Cochran I was sad to hear about my former coach passing. I was a member of the 1959 & 60 football team that played for coach Cochran and I can thank him for taking a bunch of young men who were well trained and had the skills to be winners but were missing one key facter. That was the confidence to win and I for one learned that from coach Cochan. I have never had to question who I am or what I am capable of doing. That was what I learned from coach and I will always be greatful for that. May he rest in peace.ONE OF SHORTY'S MEN. Darrell Haines

We were friends with Shorty and Mary Jane for more than 17 years. We spent winters in Destin. Florida and numerous trips to Bloomington and Green Lake. We always laughed, loved and enjoyed our time with them. Enjoyed meeting the whole family and will miss the incredible memories. Much love to all. Pere and Phyllis Roberts...Chestertown, Maryland

I recall
I recall seeing Shorty starring in the Rockets victory over Austin's football squad at Austin in probably 1948.

I worked with Shorty at Jostens. Always a go getter and always was on his way to somewhere. I remember often crossing paths through the Jostens lobby in Bloomington. Always thoughtful, always had a story to tell. Great Guy
