Todd BOSTIC Obituary

BOSTIC, Todd
Todd Bostic passed away November 9, 2016. He was born June 30, 1964 in Fort Worth, Texas. Todd moved with his family to Wichita Falls as an infant and grew up in Waco, moving to Austin in the third grade. Todd graduated from Westwood High School in 1982, where he enjoyed playing trombone in the marching band. He attended Texas State Technical Institute in Waco, where he graduated on the Dean's and President's list with an automotive technician degree. He went on to pursue his passion as an Auto-Technician for many years and made many friends; he certainly had no enemies. Todd spent his last years enjoying his work for Aviles & Gabes Wrecker Service in Austin, Texas.

Todd Bostic was an avid HAM radio enthusiast (call number N5rvd) ever since high school and had friends all over the world. Never meeting a stranger, he was always excited to meet new people in new places. His four loves were his daughters, his family, his radio, and his cars.

Todd Bostic is survived by his two daughters, Katherine (Annie) Carbajal and Kaitlyn Bostic; his loving parents, Joan and Eddie Bostic; his sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Doug Hogenmiller; his nieces, Ashley and Kendall Hogenmiller; his nephew, Ethan Hogenmiller; his great-nephew Carter Teston; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved tomcat, Baxter.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13th from 4-6pm at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on 3125 North Lamar Blvd, Austin. A funeral service will take place Monday at 10am, also at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Burial service will be in the Capital Memorial Park Cemetery in Pflugerville at 11:30am Monday the 14th. Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Dodd, Terry Reid, David Meadows, Adam Meadows, Paul Holmes, and Doug Hogenmiller. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Wehling, Jimmy Brown, Ron Pierson, and Al Amendola and his HAM Radio Operating friends around the world too numerous to name.

Contributions in memory of Todd Bostic can be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice. Obituary and memorial guestbook are available online at www.wcfish.com.

Todd, my great friend, my partner in fatherhood, I will miss you so much. Kaitlyn and Annie were always so proud that they had 2 daddy's !! I could not have asked for a more loving, kinder guy to share that fatherhood with. I will cherish forever those years we did that together, and will miss you and I hanging out together at the Easter parties. I know you will always be there, looking over my shoulder, watching your "little monkey's" .

It was such a shock to hear about Todd that I thought it was a joke at first. I had just talked to him on the radio a day or 2 before, as usual on the morning commute. The good ones are taken way too soon, and he definitely was one of them. 73 OM, You will be missed! Jim K5KTF and Rochelle KA5HHZ

Todd was a great guy who always was willing to take the shirt off his back to help others. I always enjoyed his morning commentation about Austin traffic. He was very generous. He was always helping other friends with their HAM radio projects all the while had his own with little time off to balance both. Listening to the HAM radio isn't the same without hearing your voice. Im going to miss hanging out with you on and off the radio. I hope your enjoying the DX-ing from high above! God Bless him, his friends, and is family. Love, Tommy Taylor, WD5EMS

Our condolences to his family for their loss. I met Todd through my son Tommy (WD5EMS) at the Belton Swapfest. First impression of Todd was a friendly and easy to get along with guy. Todd was very knowledgeable in both Autos and Ham Radio. Todd was a guy that would do just about anything to help a friend. Really a GREAT guy to have as a friend. Glad to have known him. RIP Todd.
