Brenda Boland Obituary

Brenda Lois (Pausewang) Boland Brenda Lois (Pausewang) Boland, "BB," passed away Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:30 p.m. in her Austin, Texas home. Brenda had been fighting cancer for a year and a half and she ultimately won the battle - BB is in heaven, while the cancer is stuck here on earth. Brenda was born August 6, 1951 in Austin, Texas to parents Logan and Imola Pausewang and was blessed with a loving sister, Betty. She grew up in Austin, attended Lanier High School, and graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in 1975. Brenda was married to Michael Boland on February 5, 1977 and gave birth to their daughter, Teryl, April 25, 1986. She had a wonderful career working at the Texas State Board of Insurance and then at Insurance Services Office, and was an active member at her church, First Evangelical Free. Brenda is survived by her husband, Michael, daughter, Teryl Anne, father, Logan Pausewang, sister, Betty Schulz and her husband Barney Schulz, as well as her niece, Staci McHale, nephews Brian and Bretton Schulz, aunt, Ruby Ogle, and countless loving and supportive friends. She is welcomed in heaven by her mother, Imola Pausewang, who passed on before her. There will be a memorial service to honor Brenda on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at First Evangelical Free Church, 4220 Monterey Oaks Boulevard in Austin. The Boland family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Texas Oncology and MD Anderson Cancer Center for the wonderful care Brenda received. Additional appreciation is extended to Hospice Austin for the support and services they gave Brenda. The family would like to thank those who have shown such overwhelming love for Brenda during her life and encourages all to remember Brenda as she was in life - loving, vivacious, energetic, passionate, strong, fun, and endlessly upbeat. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Make-A-Wish Foundation in memory of Brenda.

I serviced along side Brenda at FEFC in the Children's Ministry and what a joy she was to be around. She will be missed. May God's presence be felt in the days ahead.

My prayers go out to the Boland Family on the loss of such a wonderful woman. Although I never met Brenda in person, she could always bring sunshine into our conversations on the phone. Be comforted in the knowledge that the pain is gone and she is happy in heaven.

Looking over our post realized it sounded strange to be rejoicing... but having lost my mother in law to cancer two years ago ... and her battle was long and hard, it was a comfort to know that she was completely healed and with Jesus. We will miss Brenda as we do my mother in law. She will always be in our hearts . Please know we love you all and lift you up during this time and ask God to wrap you up in His arms.
In His precious love,

Mike, while it has been a long time since I have seen you and Brenda, I have always considered you to be the best friends I made during my time in Houston. My heart goes out to you and Teryl as she was such a wonderful lady. I know you must have so many special memories of Brenda as we all do. May those memories and your faith in God help you get through these times. I send you my prayers and love.

When we lose someone we love it seems that time stands still. What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we will begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived and that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. We will see you again some day, in a heavenly place where there is no parting. A place where there are no words that mean good-bye.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the family as you remember your loved one for the wonderful person she was
