John "Jack" Haley Jr.

JOHN "JACK" HALEY John "Jack" Haley, JR. 85,of Stuart, FL. passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19th, 2014 after a debilitating fight with Alzheimer's Disease. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Dorothy; his two loving children and their spouses, Bud Haley and his wife Mary Louise, and Barbara Cook and her husband Jay. Also surviving are his four cherished grandchildren; Jonathan Haley, Haley Sonneland, J.T. & Griffin Cook. Jack attended St. Joan of Arc in Jackson Heights, N.Y. where he sang in their boy's choir. He was a graduate of Bishop Loughlin High School, a scholarship school in Brooklyn, NY where he ran on their track team. He graduated from St. John's University with a BBS and attended Hofstra University where he received his Master's Degree. Jack was a Banker during his business career. Most of his efforts were in the lending capacity where he served on the Westchester Commission and as a trustee of St. Joseph's Hospital, Yonkers, NY where he was very active in their campaign for a new addition. He enjoyed boating and Golf on Long Island and when he retied in 1991 he took up residence in The Yacht & Country Club, in Stuart, FL. where he lived for the past 22 years. At YCC he served as treasurer on the Board of Governors from 1994-1997. He was also Chairman of the Croquet Association in 2004. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. where he was a lector, Eucharistic Minister and served on the finance committee. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 25th, at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Stuart, with Fr. Noel McGrath, as celebrant. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations in his memory be made to either Alzheimer's Community Care 800 Northpoint Parkway #101-B West Palm Beach, FL. 33407 or Hospice of the Treasure Coast 1201 SE Indian St. Stuart, FL. 34997.
