Ken was with me when my sister died and he was a most beloved friend. I loved his humor and I'm missing him deeply. I'm so sorry that he has never met the kids - he was sending them birthday- and christmas-packages and provided them with latest SciFi-Stuff to prepare them for their first Con.
Now he's the one strolling beyond the stars...we won't forget you!

Ken was a childhood friend, and I last saw him in 2002 when he was in our area attending a Con. I remember in elementary school, in the fall, we'd visit the persimmon tree every day at recess to see if the frost had turned the fruit from bitter to sweet. After high school graduation, a few of us were discussing what was to come. Ken suggested not going to college, and we were shocked. Of course, he was the one who went on to get a PhD. You think about friends like him often, and promise yourself to visit, and debrief about life later on. Lesson: don't wait. We miss you, Ken.

Ken, you were always so kind in sending me pictures. I was so surprised when you used my photo in your slide show at Coast Con this year. You had so many interests and I am so glad Sci-Fi was one of them because we got to see each other at cons. I am sure you are taking lots of photos in Heaven.

Through Deb Canady, I met Ken. Several times, we shared a hotel room together at Dragon*Con in Atlanta. He was kind and considerate beyond estimation. Just recently, I assembled and sent him a small desktop computer, and he received it and enjoyed it for his birthday. His passing was a shock to me. Unless he has another request, please make sure that computer is given to someone who genuinely needs it. Ken, I know we'll meet again some day. Right now, enjoy the company of the greatest pickers the world has ever known. Bon voyage, mon ami.

Ken, my friend, you will be missed. Your smiling face deserved to be the object of some of your pictices, not just on the gracious man holding it. R.I.P.
