Sorry for the loss of your husband / father. I have wonderous memories of Mr. Scala telling us " beach kids " ghost stories. We would sit on the Scala's sreened porch at Higgins Beach and listen intently to his colorful stories. They were so colorful and real . . . they would jangle my soul. I would like to attend the spring service. Rooco Botto P.O. box 15090 Portland, Maine 04112

I had the honor of being part of Pete's care with the agency that was there for Pete. I am so thankful for the time I spent with Pete. I looked foreward to each shift I spent with Pete. He had the humor none can match. His blue eyes and dimples always smiled before he came up with one of his quick quips. I always came away better for the time spent with him. I will treasure all he taught me and the kind of love he shared with us. Pete was a very special man who can never be forgotten. I thank Phyllis and Elise and all the girls for sharing Pete with us. My prayers are with you all in this time of trial.

My heart broke upon hearing the news of Uncle Pete's passing. I find comfort in the knowledge that Dad is there to welcome Pete home. My thoughts are of Higgins and the wonderful memories of the many visits where we would eat, walk the beach, fish, laugh and enjoy Family. I will forever remember Pete's warm bear hugs when he greeted me. He would always whisper, "JoAnne, as pretty as ever." He said this to me every time we met and it made me feel very special. I will always remember those hugs...
God Bless you all.

My heart broke upon hearing the news of Uncle Pete's passing. However, the thought of Dad welcoming Uncle Pete home, brings me Peace. Please know I am saying prayers for all of you and look forward to seeing you soon. I hold his memory close to my heart and will always remember Pete's warm bear hugs as he whispered, "JoAnne, as pretty as ever." He said it every time we met at that wonderful cottage at Higgins.
Uncle Pete was always interested in what I was doing in life as well as sharing a love of fishing with my husband George. We will miss him.

Our condolences to Phyllis, Ralda, John and the entire family on your loss. We were very fortunate to have known Pete and enjoy many of his "travelogues" and "life stories". As we read this wonderful tribute to Pete with our children, now grown and home for the holidays, we shared stories and laughs as we recalled spending time many years ago at the Scala cottage on Higgins Beach in ME. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. David/Mary Moore and family, (Ithaca, NY)

Shirley and I would like to extend our condolences to Phyllis and the family on the loss of our dear friend "Pete". We consider ourselves very fortunate to have been able to visit Phyllis and Pete in their home in Oceanview this past August where we were able to share the many stories and memories of our longtime frienship.
What a wonderful legacy of accomplishments and contributions Pete has given to the world. Not the least of which was his sense of humor and candid anaylsis of issues and politics. Pete was a kind and generous soul among us and he has provided us an example of how best to live this life to the fullest. We will certainly miss and remember him always.
We extend our very best wishes to Phyllis and their family for peace and comfort at this time of great loss.

I worked for a number of years with Pete on the Ithaca YMCA Board and Trustees. He had a wonderful way of addressing issues with common sense and charming humor. I enjoyed working with him and send my condolences to his family.
