WINTER HAVEN - Mr. Daniel P. Stephenson, age 47, of Winter Haven passed away on September 22, 2010 at Good Shepherd Hospice, Auburndale, FL due to respiratory failure.
He was born March 17, 1963 in Winter Haven, FL the son of Robert Louis and Julia Mae (Costin) Stephenson. He was an account executive with Tera Data, a division of Follett Software Company. He was a veteran of the US Navy .
Mr. Stephenson is survived by his wife Trudy Stephenson, son, Shaun Stephenson, brothers Andy Stephenson of Ashburn, VA and Bob Stephenson of Jackson, Wyoming.
Memorial service is at 4 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at St John's United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823.

My deepest sympathies go out to Danny's family. I just learned of his passing earlier this week. He was my rock as we became a customer of Follett Software. He was always patient, kind, compassionate and understanding as I had many issues at the time. I owe my survival and the success of this program to the assistance and care he gave to us here in Tallahassee.

I wanted to send my deepest sympathy to Trudy, Shaun and Danny's brothers. I knew Danny for many years - and I'm finding it very hard to put down in words what he meant to me. Danny helped me in some difficult times - and he was always the most positive, energetic force - a great friend and a great man. I will still be looking out for that force. I will miss his smile and sense of humor and strong laugh.

The first time I met Danny was about 10 years ago while Manatee County was coming out of the Dark Ages and into a Union Catalog. Danny was patient, knowledgeable, friendly, and helped make the transition seamless. Throughout the years, we had many opportunities to interact with and learn from Danny.

Trudy, I am so sorry for your loss and pray that God will bring you comfort in these hard times. Having known Danny for more than 20 years he was one of the best friends anyone could have. I will miss his friendship and his loving nature, he brought out the best in all us.

I knew Danny for several years and always enjoyed our collaborations. He was a kind and funny person, and I will truly miss him. He will be missed by the Library Media Services Department and the library media specialists of Miami-Dade. My thoughts and prayers are with his family in this time of grief.

Trudy, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My heart is so sad for you. It is so hard to be faced with it anytime, but esp. with Sean being so young. My brother died about 6 years ago, leaving a 3 year old son. It has been a hard road, but my sister-in-law has found good support along the way, and finds that Chris' spirit lingers, providing her comfort, and with her helping her to be strong and to be a good mom. His spirit lingers in my home as well, usually chanelled through my children to pester me as he always did as my little brother. I KNOW it is him. May you continue to feel his love and presence, even in the quiet moments. I miss seeing you and Sean and wish you both well.

I had the pleasure and honor to work along side of Danny; just as Destiny was coming online. Let's just say that he will be missed by me and Miami-Dade County's Library Media Services Department. Danny was my co-worker and friend for almost 20 years. He taught me so many great lessons in life, pushed me to success, and he always kept smiling. He was "just Danny" to me and I will miss him deeply! My heart goes out to Trudy, Shaun, and his entire family. My prayers are with you all!

Anyone that knows Danny knows he was a very kind and fun loving man. He was a great boss, colleague, and friend (although he would object to being called a "boss"). Danny was a happy soul and friend to all; I have very fond memories of playing golf with him and his late father. My deepest sympathy to his wife, young daughter, and family. God speed Danny.
