My condolences to the Martinez family on your loss. Mrs. Martinez was very kind and giving to me when the family lived in Albuquerque. She took me in to her home for several weeks during a transitional time in my life. I'll always remember her smile, her wisdom and of course, her cooking!

I will always remember Carmen for her mentorship in my work with Hispanic Ministry for the Archdiocese of Detroit. She opened her apartment in Mexico City to Tim Laboe and me on our first trip to Mexico. She showed us the sights, smells and tastes of Mexico as no one else could, as we visited The Bascilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Along with Hector Bustamonte, we made the trip of a lifetime to Pasquaro and then to Oaxaca for the unforgetable Guelaguetza dance festival. She was a wonderful, joyful, faithfilled woman. May she now enjoy eternal lie with her savior and Nuestra Senora!

nothing but respect for this lady and the fine family she raised. went to school and played ball with Joe and mike most of my younger life. fondly remember walking by Carmen's tacos on the way out to Jaycee park in the 60's. we've moved away but we compare every Mexican restaurant we ever go to TRINI & CARMENS --- they NEVER stack up. we're glad she lived so long and shared so much with her family. please accept our condolences. Our deepest sympathy to the family of Carmen. We remember her and all the kids when they lived on Lewis St. and the times she spent at the restaurant working so hard. She always had a beautiful smile and a kind word. You now can be with the love of your life.
