I knew Peter only briefly as a student of his but was touched deeply by his kindness and love of teaching. He taught me what it was to be a compassionate teacher.

So sorry to hear of Peter's passing. He has been a mentor and friend to me since I took his class in 1986. His dedication to art education improved the lives of countless people. He will be missed.

Deepest Sympathy to the family and friends of Mr. Purdue. We all enjoyed our little chats with him when he would drop his clothes off and pick them up from our establishment. He will be missed.

Peter was a bon vivant, an accomplished dialogist, and a brilliant wit. I recall standing with him in Topkapi Palace in Istanbul when he announced that all Saskatchewan was his personal seraglio.
