Randall "Randy" Vance Johnson, Jr.

Memorial services for Randall "Randy" Vance Johnson, Jr., were held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Fr. Scott Chemino officiating with burial in the family plot in Pythian Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Mr. Johnson, a resident of New York City, New York, formerly of Bunkie, passed away at his residence on January 27, 2012 at age of 56. He was the son of the late Randall Vance Johnson, Sr., Narcille Lemoine Ducote Johnson, and Myrtle "Lovely" Pope Johnson of Bunkie, LA.

Randy is survived by his sisters, Annette Ducote Busch of Lafayette and Teresa Ducote Luke of Bunkie and brothers, Percy F. Ducote of New York City, Lawrence H. Ducote of Baton Rouge, Theodore M. Ducote of Austin, Texas and Fredrick L. Ducote of Bunkie.

Randy loved New York City, his home in Greenwich Village and his work with hair stylist salons and the office of the Curator at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. Randy was an exceedingly kind and gracious man who was very generous to his family and loved ones.

My deepest sympathy to Randy's family and friends. I have not seen Randy for decades but my memories of him are special. We were grade school friends in Bunkie and his kindness and compassion were prevalent even way back then.
