I've been thinking about you Rick, you were such a great friend. I miss our talks, you helped Van and I get a job at OFS and later at Infineon. You were a big help in my conversion to Catholicism. Our four wheel drive trips to the Cash brothers and the Pedlar River were legendary. I look forward to seeing you again brother.

I still remember the good times. You knew more about the civil war than anyone I ever knew. My God bless the family and friends of both you and Andy.

To the Family of Rick Nester: What a wonderful man he was! He was the kind of man who would do anything for a friend. I knew Rick for over 30 years. He was one of the kindess men I have ever known. He will be greatly missed. What a sad day this is. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.

Knowing Rick enriched my life. He was a gifted story teller who could spin a tale about a Civil War location that would let you feel and understand what it was like for the people involved. He entertained and inspired with his stories of canoe trips down the river or hunting with his black powder rifle, and his tale of the treasure that might be hidden on his property was unforgettable. I will always remember his wit and ready laugh.
Rick was my friend and I will miss him.

Rick was one of my favorite colleagues at the Atlanta Works. Always kept us laughing. He helped me obtain a rare civil war book for my husbands birthday. Have missed his stories and legends about the "war of northern aggression". Fine man, fine life.

I feel honored to have known Rick and was fortunate to regularly correspond with him via e-mail since retiring from Lucent in 2001. He had an incredible, positive attitude and was always more concerned about others rather than about his own condition. We are better folks for having known him.
