MOORE, Mrs. Robnette Leona Johnson, departed this life Monday, July 5, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Michael Moore Sr. Mrs. Moore was born February 1, 1922 and was a 1938 graduate of Armstrong High School. She acquired her administrative skills through two years of study at J. Sargeant Reynolds. She is survived by five children, Jewel M. Poe, Dr. Roscoe M. Moore Jr. (Patricia), Attorney Robert J. Moore (Marsha), Ret. Master Sgt. Edmund A. Moore, Ret. Lt. Col. Charles L. Moore, and a claimed fifth son, Wilbur U. Mallory (Maxine); Mrs. Moore has 12 grandchildren, James F. Poe Jr., Robin V. Poe, Gai Karole PauPaw (David), Michael L. Poe, Tchad J. Moore (Angela), Roscoe M. Moore III, John H. Moore, Saran L. Moore, Jarret W. Moore, Sean Michael Ransome, Robert A. Moore and Eli Jacob Moore; three great-grandchildren, Jewel Mechelle Poe, Destini E. Moore and Sofiya Jess Z'Oya Moore; sister, Sophia J. Foster; nieces and nephews, Dr. Ralph Anderson (Judy), George Foster, Peggy Winfield (Hank), Wilhelmina Foster, Rienzi L. Johnson, Beverly Dixon, Michelle Radcliff, Kevin Johnson, Toni Johnson and Ericka Tyler; and a host of friends and family. Mrs. Moore loved her family and was a confirmed and devoted member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church. Mrs. Moore retired in 1986 from Richmond Public Schools as a secretary at Bellevue Elementary School (29 years and six months). Previous to Richmond Public Schools, from 1952 to 1955, she was the secretary of St. Philip's Episcopal Church at St. James and Leigh Streets. Her professional affiliations were with the NAEOP, VAEOP and RAEOP. Civic affiliations, Eastview Civic Associations. Religious affiliations, St. Mary's Guild at St. Philip's Episcopal Church. Her remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th Street, where public viewing will be held Friday, July 9, 2010, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends Friday (today) from 7 to 8 p.m. Remains will lie in state 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 2900 Hanes Ave., Richmond, Va., where services will be held at 11 a.m. The Rev. David H. Knight will be presiding. Interment at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Goochland County, Va. Fly away, fly away Mom, with your butterflies. Donations can be sent to the Johns Hopkins University for the Dr. Roscoe M. Moore Jr. Epidemiology Scholarship Fund. This fund was established in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Michael Moore Sr.
