ALFORD, Mrs. Shelia A., of Richmond, departed this life October 30, 2010. She is survived by her husband, Edwin A. Alford Sr.; two sons, Edwin A. Alford Jr. (Nicole) and Jamaal M. Alford (Candance); mother, Dorothy O. Hembrick; two grandchildren, Edwin A. Alford III and Jamaal A. Alford; four brothers, Herman Hembrick Jr., Ralph Hembrick (Larene), George Hembrick (Gloria) and Welton Hembrick (Marilyn); one sister, Edith Sessom; two sisters-in-law, Bambie L. Alford and Denise D. Alford; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m., and where funeral services will be held Thursday at 12 noon. Burial Oakwood Cemetery.
