Lily O. Herron

HERRON, Lily O., departed this life to join her beloved husband, Wesley C. Herron Jr. on June 2, 2010. She was born November 26, 1923, to the late John T. and Emma M. Owen, in Halifax County, Va. She is survived by three brothers of eight siblings, John T. Owen Jr. and wife, Joan, Elwood T. Owen and wife, Anne and Alton E. Owen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lily was a faithful member of Bon Air Baptist Church. She was a longtime employee of C&O Railroad and the Commonwealth of Virginia. The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Bon Air Baptist Church. A private graveside service will be held at Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Bon Air Baptist Church or Bon Secours Hospice.
