Beatryce Ascoli Obituary

ASCOLI, Beatryce Esther Attenborough, 91, of Midlothian, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2010 at St. Francis Medical Center, Midlothian. Born on March 18, 1919 in East Providence, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Charles Mark Attenborough and Flora Frances van Hoorn Attenborough. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Col. Lawrence Ascoli, U.S. Army Retired. She earned her BA from the University of South Florida in 1986 at the age of 67. She is survived by her three children, Richard van Hoorn Ascoli, M.D. of San Luis Obispo, Calif., formerly of Portland, Ore.; Lawrence Mark Ascoli and his wife, Gloria, of Charlottesville; Lindi Ascoli Stevenson and her husband, Jim, of Midlothian; three grandsons, Matthew Todd Ascoli and his wife, Helen, of Charlottesville, Stacy Ascoli Stevenson and Samuel Ascoli Stevenson, both of Midlothian; two granddaughters, Amy Ascoli Vesser and her husband, Justin, of Charlottesville, Laurence Ascoli Stevenson of Midlothian; three great-grandchildren, Morgan Paige Ascoli, Bryson Lawrence Ascoli and Jack Louis Vesser, all of Charlottesville. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial in Arlington National Cemetery will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the American Heart Association, 3025 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, Va. 22901.
