Bernard LANDRY Obituary

LANDRY, Mr. Bernard Paul, 79, of Lunenburg, Va., and formerly of Springfield, Va., a retired chemical engineer, died Friday, October 30, 2009. Mr. Landry graduated from LSU, and spent the majority of his life in Springfield and was an active member of Saint Lawrence Catholic Church in Springfield. He was in the Marine Corps Reserve receiving a 1st Lt. Commission during the Korean War and retired from the Federal Highway Administration after 30 years of service. He was a supporter and member of the LSU Alumni Association and a member of the Springfield American Legion Post. For many years he coached youth baseball and football in Springfield and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Costello Landry; his daughter, Renee Denise Landry of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; his sons, Michael Landry of Kenbridge and Bernard P. Landry Jr. of Baton Rouge, La.; two granddaughters, Rachel Renee Landry and Isabella Scout Landry; and his grandsons, Kevin and Daniel Landry. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009 in the Kenbridge Heights Cemetery. Clarke Funeral Home, Kenbridge, Va., in charge of services.
