Breaux Bridge- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 22, 2025 at St. Bernard Catholic Church honoring the life of Nelson Joseph "Joe" Landry, 84, who passed away on December 16, 2025.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until service time.
A rosary will be prayed by his nieces Rita Seneca, Billie Periou and Nancy Latiolais at 6:00 PM on Sunday.
Rev. Reed Bellingham will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Arlene Dupuis and Tristyn Landry. Gift bearers will be Tristyn Landry, Jaiven Mabry, Haizley Mabry, Anniston Landry, Gracelynn Landry, Serenity Landry and Carter Landry.
Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.
Nelson found joy in simple pleasures, from playing French music that echoed through his home to enjoying lively games of cards. He cherished visits to the casino, where laughter and camaraderie were always present.
He is survived by his children Clegg "Sonny" (Janice) Landry, Rodney (Tina) Landry, Nanette Landry (David) Domingue and Tina Landry (Steve) Mabry; step-daughter, Renella Himel; brothers, Harold Lee Landry and Clayton Landry; grandchildren, Coby (Britteny) Landry, Chad (Brooke) Landry, Branson (Brittany) Landry, Joey Landry, Trevor Domingue, Alex (Carmin) Domingue and Kayla Mabry; great-grandchildren, Tristyn Landry, Jaiven Mabry, Haizley Mabry, Anniston Landry, Gracelynn Landry, Serenity Landry and Carter Landry; and 8 step grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Marie Dore Landry; second wife, Marie Maud Walker Landry; parents, Antoine and Rose Noel Landry; step grandson Brice Navarre; brothers, Remy Landry, Dalton Landry, Wilson Landry, Wilbert Landry, Willis Landry and Albert Landry; sister, Rita Landry.
Pallbearers will be Chad Landry, Coby Landry, Branson Landry, Joey Landry, Trevor Domingue and Alex Domingue.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kayla Mabry and Jaiven Mabry.
