CHRISTENSEN, Edith Macgregor, age 92, of Richmond, Va., passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010. She was born in Reading, Mass., the daughter of the late Edwin S. and Hilda Veinot Macgregor. Mrs. Christensen was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John P. Christensen and her daughter, Jeanne C. Kelly. She was a member of the Unitarian-Universalist Community Church (UUCC) of Glen Allen, the UU Retired Ministers and Partners, the Eastern Star, the World Wildlife Federation, the Sierra Club, and was an active environmentalist. Mrs. Christensen was a graduate of Tufts University in Medford, Mass. She is survived by her children, John P. Christensen Jr. of Baltimore, Md. and Diane Christensen of Richmond, Va.; son-in-law, Christopher J. Kelly; daughter-in-law, Gail A. Murphy; loving caregiver, Roberta Dague; and her cat, Lucy. A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at UUCC of Glen Allen, located at 11105 Cauthorne Road, Glen Allen, Va. 23059. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Unitarian-Universalist Service Committee online at www.UUSC.org. Condolences to the family may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

I was so sorry to see the notice of Edith's death. She was a lovely woman and I enjoyed knowing her in Wilmington. Dan and I were involved with the UU Fellowship then, and John and Edith moved to Wilmington to lead the group.
I'm glad she was near family for her later years.
