Edward RECORDS Obituary

RECORDS, Edward Thomas Jr., 84, of White Stone, died October 25, 2009. Edward was a member of the U.S. Army from August 1943 to January 1946. During his time in the service, Ed was stationed with the 453rd Medical Collecting Company, which saw action one day after D-Day, June 7, 1944. Ed's unit continued operations throughout Normandy, Northern France and Central Europe until his return to the United States in December 1945. Ed Records was awarded the European, the African and the Middle Eastern Theater Ribbons, with Bronze Arrowheads. He was also awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Ribbon. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Letha D. Records; daughter, Amy Whisenhunt (Gary) of Leander, Texas; son, Gregory Leffler (Dottie) of Alexandria; grandchildren, Heather and Derek Whisenhunt, Christopher and Thomas Leffler, and DottieMae Dawson (Jason); and great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Caleb and Clayton. He was preceded in death by sons, Kevin Leffler and Stephen Records. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at White Stone United Methodist Church, with interment in the church cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, Va. Memorials may be made to the Animal Welfare League or White Stone United Methodist Church.
