ELIZABETH WARE Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch on May 8, 2013.
WARE, Elizabeth Jeanette Jenkins "BJ," aged 78, died the evening of May 3, 2013 at the Villages Hospice House in the Villages, Fla., after a brief but fierce struggle with cancer. BJ was born on March 4, 1935 in Richmond, Va., the daughter of the late William L. Jenkins and the late Jeanette M. Byron. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond and went on to graduate from Longwood College in Farmville, Va., in 1957. BJ resided in Richmond until the late 1970s and then moved to Hilton Head Island, S.C., where she fell in love with the Carolina Low Country and the ocean. After living in Hilton Head for some time, BJ moved to The Villages, Fla., in 2006, where she worked as an office assistant before starting a small pet sitting service. She is survived by her daughter, Page Valgora of Haddonfield, N.J.; her daughter, Anne Turner; and her son, John Ware both of Baltimore, Md.; one granddaughter; and her beloved cat, Sam. BJ requested that no memorial services be held and instead requested that she be returned to the sea. Memorial donations may be made by mailing a check to Villagers For Hospice, 1114 Barcelona Dr., The Villages, Fla. 32159, or online at http://www.villagersforhospice.org/make_a_donation.html.
