FLOURNOY, John Clifton, 62, of Sandston, passed away February 1, 2011. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Shirley. John is survived by his daughter, Brandy Burnett and her husband, Joey; son, Max Flournoy and his wife, Chastain; devoted grandchildren, Molly and Leo Burnett; mother, Louise Flournoy; stepmother, Marion Breschel; brothers, Richard, Mitchell and Bubba Flournoy; sisters, Harriet Morgan, Margaret Foster, Wanda Gooding and Annette Borron. He was a Vietnam veteran, veteran of the Virginia Army National Guard, and for more than 30 years he was a cable splicer for C&P Telephone (Verizon). The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 4, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would be pleased if you would make donations to the charity of your choice.

I am so sorry to hear about John. I worked with John at Verizon and he was always a joy to talk to. He will be greatly missed. My prayers are with his family. May God give you the comfort you need.
