Mary Flowers Obituary

FLOWERS, Mary Frances Buchanan, of Richmond, a former President of the Garden Club of Virginia and a longtime community volunteer, died March 16, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband, George Horace Flowers Jr.; and her daughter, Mary F. Cadwallader of Raleigh, N.C. She is survived by her sons, George Flowers III (Alice) and William Flowers (Susan), both of Richmond and John Flowers (Ellen) of Roanoke; son-in-law, Jeffrey Cadwallader of Raleigh; her sister, Anne B. Tomlinson of Charlotte, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 10 at 2 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church, 5 North Fifth Street. Burial will be private.
