Norma LINK Obituary

LINK, Norma Jean (Bloemer), 80, of Richmond, died peacefully, Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at St. Francis Medical Center, Richmond, with her two eldest sons by her side. Jean was a native of Louisville, Ky. and retiree of Washington County Va. school district. She is predeceased by her spouse Leo A. Link; and sisters, Mary Carmel (Martin) Sellin, Carol Ann Butler; and brother, Frank (Bud) Bloemer. Jean was a current member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of Richmond, and former member of St. Edward the Confessor in Richmond, and Christ the King Catholic Church, Abingdon, Va. She was a resident of Imperial Plaza and a former volunteer at Chippenham Hospital. She enjoyed bowling, reading, traveling, concerts, plays, dining with friends, and playing Rummikub. She is survived by her four children, Michael Leo Link and wife, Beverly, Byron Ga., Stephen Joseph Link and wife, Paula, Huntsville Ala., Lawrence Edward Link, Tonkawa Okla., and Linda Link Shirley and husband, Ed, Apex, N.C. She was the proud grandmother to Chad and Tim Link, and Courtney and Meagan Shirley; and great- grandmother to LJ, Delila, and Katelynn Link. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for January 16, 10:30 a.m., St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, #2700 Dolfield Drive, Richmond, Va. Memorial service and burial is scheduled for March 6, 3 p.m. at Forest Hills Memory Garden, #19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity, St. Edwards Church, or Saint Joseph Catholic Orphan Society, Inc., 2823 Frankfort Ave., Louisville, Ky.

Mike, Steve, Larry & Linda, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom, my wonderful aunt. She was a wonderful woman and I'll miss her very much. Take care of yourselfs and each other in this difficult time. We will see you in Abindong in March. Love Terri.
