She lived in Atlantic City, N.J., where she modeled jewelry and won the Miss Atlantic City Bicycle Beauty Contest. She married Irving Abady after he returned from World War II and moved to Richmond. She enjoyed bowling, watching TV and her favorite pleasure, chocolate. She knew all the chocolatiers in every city in which she lived and especially delighted in the home-made varieties. In Richmond, she operated the Berkshire House Restaurant located in downtown Richmond, famous for home-made biscuits with a marmalade topping. In addition to her beauty and finesse, Ms. Abady was the ultimate party giver, hosting many festivities and dinners at her home. They often featured a violin and piano player. She will be remembered for her love of young children and her devotion to her husband and family.
