STANLEY, Shirley Foster, of Old Church, passed away on November 27, 2009. She was preceded in death by her father, William Foster; mother, Mary H. Duling; and sister, Margaret Fitzgerald. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Sidney Judson Stanley; her loving children, Sidney F. Stanley (Catherine) of New Kent and Beth Stanley Wilson (Jimmy) of Powhatan; six grandchildren, Lucas, Jacob, Alex, and Grant Stanley and Nicholas and Phillip Wilson; uncle, Benny Howard; two nieces, Kathy Wisener and Susan Jones; and two very special friends, May Bond and Gail Kyser. Shirley retired from First Virginia Bank and, prior to that, worked at the Federal Reserve Bank. She will be missed by her family and friends. The family will receive friends at Bliley's - Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Road, on Sunday, November 29 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, November 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 1 at 12 noon at Bliley's - Staples Mill Chapel, followed by interment at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Flowers accepted, or make contributions to a charity of your choice.
