Victor Rosser "Ross" Mahanes

MAHANES, Victor Rosser "Ross," 91, of Mineral, died Monday, November 30, 2009 in the Louisa Health Care Center. He was born on February 11, 1918 in Madison County and was the son of the late Harry W. Mahanes and Sue Carpenter Mahanes. He was married to the late Eva Hubbard Mahanes and was a member of the Mineral United Methodist Church, a member of the Richmond Masonic Lodge #10, a founding member of the Mineral Volunteer Rescue Squad, and a longtime member of the Mineral Volunteer Fire Company. Mr. Mahanes is survived by two daughters, Sandra Adams and husband, Howard, of Mineral, Belinda Cannon and husband, Charles, of Amissville; and three grandchildren, Howard Adams Jr., Eric Adams and Ross Cannon. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Billy Mahanes; and a sister, Arlene Gooch. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2009 at the Mineral United Methodist Church, officiated by The Rev. Theresa Hoffman. Interment will be held at a later date.
