I am Zelda's aunt. Her father Hiram was my brother. It has been many years since I last saw her at her father's funeral and my fondest memories of her were as a child and as a beautiful young lady. Her charm and personality are the things that I remember most about her. She always brought fun and laughter to all our family gatherings. I'm nearly 97 years old but fondest memories of her are fixed in my mind. My prayers and loving thoughts are with her family today. Take solace in knowing that "ZZ" as you called her, touched so many people's lives in such a positive way even before most of you were ever born. God Bless you Zelda and all those who loved you so much.

Bess, know that your mother loved you dearly. My sincere thoughts are with you and your family. It is so good to have a strong partner like Stacy to hold you during these trying times.
ZZ will forever hold a vivid memory in my mind.

I was very luck to have known ZZ for many years. She was one of the sweetest woman that I know. She was always there to leaned a helping ear when you needed to talk and a helping hand if you needed help. You will be missed very much. Bess I have to agree with Stacey when she said that you are your mothers Mirror. I love you both and you are in my prayers. Love Amy and Zinnie

Pearl & Ruby

I meet Zelda way back in Bluefield, had not seen her in over ten years, but thought of her often. I know she is with her beloved William now. If there is anyone who knew of life trials, pains, it was ZZ. She could look at you with those blue eyes and take all your pain away. I will miss all the times we talked, and ate together, beans and cornbread. We had a little joke between us, she had just had her heart stents, she looked like hell, probably felt like it also, she looked at me and said, "Well Pearl how do I look? I didn't know what to say, so I said "Your color looks GOOD", she laughed till I thought she was going to have an heart attack. Whenever I hear someome say "your color looks good" I think of ZZ. She gave me and my partner a nick name, "Peral and Ruby, it has stuck for over 23 years, now. I think back to her's, she was a lump of coal, and noone knew exactly where the coal was from, but everyone who she meet, touched, talked, advised, fusssed at, knew the coal was a STAR DIAMOND in the ruff, shining all the time there before their eyes. She will always be my DIAMOND, like I am her Pearl. To the children, grand-children, all those who loved her, she will never be gone, she left many parts of that DIAMOND in all of you. Just close your eyes, and there you will see the parts she knew we all needed. My heart goes out to you ALL.
She will be greatly missed.

My life is forever changed and forever richer because of the time I was blessed enough to spend with ZZ! What an amazing and loving person! I hope that she knew just how many lives that she touched throughout the years for people young and old! The love that was given to her by her friends and caretakers of Autumn View Gardens in Ellisville MO will never be forgotten....if only you all realize just how much she loved you all and appreciated each and everyone of you! Bess, you truly are your mother's mirror....her loving ways, her listening ear, her strength and her courage. You have to know how very proud you made her and that not a day went by in the last month that she didn't know you were right there by her side! I am so proud of you....you did an incredible job! ZZ, I love you so much and am honored that you called me your "chosen daughter!" As you requested and as I promised you, I will "love Bessie everyday!"
