John Grieff Obituary

John J. Grieff
John J. Grieff, 86, of Sarasota, Fla., beloved son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Grieff of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 21.
A U.S Army veteran, he was a graduate of King's College, Wilkes-Barre, with a degree in journalism.
He began his career at Western Electric, Allentown, in 1951.
He married his wife, Lorraine (Bartol), on Nov. 3, 1951.
Accepting a position in New York with Western Electric, he and Lorraine moved to New Jersey, where they raised their four sons. His distinguished career spanned over 40 years. Following his retirement as senior vice president of the A.T. & T. Fund, he and Lorraine relocated to Florida.
Surviving are four sons John J. II, and his wife, Jennifer (Dove), and Neal, and his wife, Sabine (Danzmayr), both of Sarasota, Kevin, and his wife, Dyanne (Endress), of Naples, Fla., and Wayne in Georgia; a brother Joseph, and his wife, Helen (Gigler), of Allentown; two sisters Mary Louise Giannangeli of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Annette, wife of John Glucksnis of Reading; nine grandchildren, John J. Grieff III of Las Vegas, Nev., Meredith Renee Owens of Charleston, S.C., Christopher Grief of Santa Barbara, Calif., Carley and Ryan Grieff of Naples, Tatiana and Alessa Grieff of Sarasota, Jordan Grieff of Rome, Ga., and Dawson Rose Grieff in Georgie; and a great-granddaughter Serena of Sarasota.
He was also predeceased by a brother Alfred.
Service: Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, Joseph S. Blazosky, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Nesquehoning. Interment, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9:30-10 a.m. Saturday.

Jay, Kevin, Neal, Wayne, and the entire Grieff Family. I was sorry to hear about your dad. He was such a great family man and such a good uncle to me and my siblings. I am glad to be in Pennsylvania to pay my respects to him and too see all of you again.
