RUSSELL SUTTON Obituary

Russell L. Sutton Sr. EAST WINDSOR Russell L. Sutton Sr., 82, of East Windsor passed away on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, in the Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton. Born in Trenton, Mr. Sutton resided in East Windsor for the past 52 years. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Sutton served during the Korean War. After returning from the service, he worked as a carpenter and then as the training manager for Williams Builder of Robbinsville. He retired in 1995 after over 35 years of service. Mr. Sutton in years past was active with the Hightstown High School Marching Band Booster Club, having served as its president. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. Above all else, he was a devoted family man, and especially cherished time with his grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, George H. and Alice (Raby) Sutton; his brother, Robert, and his sister, Betty, Mr. Sutton is survived by his wife, Elsie (Fryer) Sutton; his son, Russell L. Sutton Jr. and his wife, Claudia; his daughter, Susan Bartolotto and her husband, John (COL. U.S. Army, Retired); his grandchildren, Christopher and Keturah Jane Sutton, Sarah, Emily, Hannah and John Bartolotto, and several nieces and nephews, including Kim Wollman. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Interment will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home. Our hearts go out to Mrs. Sutton, Sue, Russell Jr. and extended family. We feel privileged to have known Mr. Sutton. We will treasure our memories and the stories we heard while visiting with him at John's retirement. Dear Elsie, With great sadness I read of Russ' death. Although I now live in FL, we are able to view Trenton obits. He was a good man and I remember him well. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. We go back many years and I have wonderful memories of working with you at the Diocese.
