Billy Jack Bowman Sr. BRISTOL, Tenn. Rev. Billy Jack Bowman Sr., age 67, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at his home. He was born July 7, 1943, in Washington County, Va., lived in the Bristol area most of his life and was a son of the late Howard and Laura Bowman. He was a Baptist minister, wonderful husband, father and papaw and he will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Coy Anderson and Jake Bowman; three sisters, Marie Barker, Mary Roark, and Louella Trivett. Survivors include: wife, Sarah Bowman; children, Richard Bowman and wife, Manay, Wayne Bowman, Neecy Worley and husband, Brian, Billy Bowman Jr., Laura Worley and husband, Chucky; brother, Merl Bowman; sister, Thelma Trivett; five grandchildren, Chuck Worley Jr. Nicole Worley, Kaci Bowman, Reanna Bowman and Shane Bowman; several nieces and nephews; special nieces, Linda Layell and Sheila Wambolt. Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Cecil Sturgill and Rev. Wrighty Salling officiating. The committal will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Rust Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chuck Worley Jr., Chucky Worley, Brian Worley, Billy Jack Bowman Jr., Wayne Bowman and Kevin Layell. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday before the chapel service at the Weaver Funeral Home. Flowers may be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Weaver Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
