Helen Jones Bevins Helen Jones Bevins, passed away Friday, April 23, 2010, at the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va., after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Bevins was a native of Blountville, Tenn., but lived most of her life in Bristol Virginia, until relocating to her son's home in Glade Spring, Va., for the past 12 years. She was a former member of Cross Methodist Church, and worked as a bookkeeper and office manager throughout the years. Mrs. Bevins is preceded in death by her parents, Abel and Barsha Jones; and her husband Bill Bevins. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Mary Lou Bevins; three grandchildren, Ashley, David and Katie; niece, Deborah; and nephew and his wife, Roger and Gwen Opengari and children of Winston Salem, N.C. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Ms. Shirley Coleman, her caregiver, and to Dr. Tom Green and his staff for their devoted support. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and a graveside service will be conducted at Mountain View Mausoleum Chapel, Monday, April 26, 2010, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Hank Bellfield officiating.
