Helen Marie Yarber Widener GLADE SPRING, Va. Mrs. Helen Marie Yarber Widener, 66, heard her Lord and Savior whisper sweet peace to her on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, "my child come home". She was a precious loving wife, momma, mamaw, great-mamaw, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, Paul Jackson Widener; mother, Alice Yarber Patrick; father, Jess Yarber; sister, Sammie McCracken; brother, Dewey Yarber. She was a member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church Survivors include her children: son, Dennis Widener and wife Patty, Glade Spring; daughter, Alice Osborne and husband Johnnie, Glade Spring; son, William Widener and wife Tracy, Glade Spring; grandchildren, Jason, Brian, Kaitlyn, Alyssa, Jordan and Madison; one great-grandchild, Paul Jackson Widener; her cherished sisters, Jenny Hicks and husband Dexter, Betty Barrett and belated husband Roy, Bonnie Chapman and husband Bill, loving brothers, Rolf Yarber and wife Joyce, Eddie Yarber and wife Donna; brother-in-law, Sug McCracken; sister-in-law, Oliven Yarber; several nieces and nephews. A heartfelt appreciation to Carrie Long of Hometown Hospice and Amy Branson who were Mom's guardian angels thru her sickness. Thanks to her friend and physician, Dr. Brickley Craven. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Solid Rock Baptist Church, 20060 Saturn Drive, Abingdon, VA with Brother Billy Hawkins and Brother Johnnie Osborne officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Widener, Willie Widener, Johnnie Osborne, Brian Widener, Jason Widener, Jordan Osborne. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Baumgardner, Dexter Hicks, Bill Chapman, Freddie Horne, Don Mullins, Sug McCracken, Johnny Hicks. Those wishing to express sympathy online or sign the guest register may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, from 6 until 8 p.m in the Farris Funeral Home. Farris Funeral Service, 427 East Main St., Abingdon, VA is serving the Widener family.

Alice,Dennis,Willie,Eddie,and family.You are in my thoughts and prayers and may God wrap his love around all of you.I'm so sorry for your loss. I Love all your families. Helen was one of the sweetest ladies I will miss her.

Still remember those happier tmes past when we all talked on the CB radio and enjoyed the laughs and smiles. Will remember the family in our thoughts and prayers.
