Ray Eugene "Gene" Farmer BRISTOL, Tenn. Ray Eugene "Gene" Farmer, age 82, went to be with the Lord Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at Wellmont Hospice House. He was born June 25, 1928 in Manco, Ky. He re- tired from General Electric after serving 21 years in the US Navy. Gene was a member of West Hills Christian Church, VFW Patton-Crosswhite Post 6975, VFW Post 448, Royal and Select Master Masons, Anderson Chapter No. 131 Royal Arch Masons, Mystic Lodge A.F. & A.M., King Lodge No. 461 and St Omer-Commandery No. 19 Knights Templar. He was preceded in death by his wife Lydia Marino Farmer. Survivors include: best friend, Bonnie Moore; daughter, Yvonne Clark and husband Jim; son, Richard Farmer; grandchildren, Jeremy, Brittany, Derek, Lydia, Sarah, Michael, Bethany, Matthew and Jordan; great-grandson, Jeffery; sister, Gladys. Funeral service will be held Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at 8 p.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Gary Knapp officiating. The burial will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the VA National Cemetery in Mountain Home, Tenn., with Military Honors conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Hills Christian Church at 116 Elm St. Bristol, TN 37620. Online condolences may be registered at www.weaverfuneralhome.net Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home.
