HONAKER, Va. – Mrs. Wanda Louise Street Owens, age 68, passed away Monday, May 12, 2008, in a Bristol Tennessee hospital.
Born Aug. 7, 1939, in Buchanan County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Linkous and Stacy Street. She spent most of her life in the Buchanan and Russell County areas and was a member of Proffitt's Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a wonderful mother, sister and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Owens; one son, Rocky Owens; one grandson, Bryant Keith Grizzle; and four siblings, Betty Jo Street, James Hassell Street, Jerry Russell Street and Janie Street.
Survivors include four daughters, Delphine Grizzle of the home, Audrey Miller of Cleveland, Va., Connie Miller of Swords Creek, Va., and Patty Hart of Honaker; five granddaughters, Lynn Street, Rhonda Street, Tiffany Miller, Erica Miller and Tabitha Owens; three grandsons, Jonathan Grizzle of the home, Jesse Grizzle and Joshua Hart; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Venita (Nickie) Lowe of Lebanon, Va., Donna Street of Honaker, Phyllis McConnell of Gate City, Va., and Barbara Hess of Honaker; two brothers, Larry Street of Honaker and Johnny Street of Lebanon; stepmother, Maude Street of Abingdon, Va.; one stepsister, Gay Rowe of Abingdon; two stepbrothers, Harold Rowe and Denny Rowe, both of Abingdon; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Joyce Barker and the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the McGlothlin Family Cemetery at Rowe, Va.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Hart, Jessee Grizzle, Ira Lowe, Glen Honaker and John Baldwin. Honorary pallbearer will be Tim Shortt.
Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Tuesday, where a service will be conducted at 7 p.m.

I hated to hear about Wanda, but know that you all are in our prayers and thoughts! You might not know me but i am Connie Dye's daughter. I know this is a hard time for you all but we are here for you if you need us! We love you, GOD BLESS!

DELPHINE, I ONLY KNEW WANDA A VERY SHORT TIME. I REALLY GREW TO LOVE HER. LOSING A MOM IS A PAIN LIKE NO OTHER, MY HEART & LOVE GO OUT TO YOU. LOOK TO GOD, HE'S OUR ONLY PEACE & COMFORT. I FEEL REALLY BLESSED TO HAVE HAD THE TIME WITH BOTH OF YOU. LOVE & PRAYERS
