My sincere condolences to the Thomas family. I just heard of Gilbert's passing. Gil was a great guy, we worked together at Portec for many years. We had a lot of fun and laughs. We lost touch with each other over the years, but he was always in my thoughts. Gilbert was a true friend, and a brother. I will miss him. R.I.P. my friend.

To the Thomas and Spotts Family. I was deeply shocked and saddened when I came upon Gilbert's obituary in the paper. I remember him vividly from School 2 where my son attended. He too was saddened to hear the news. Please accept my sincere condolences and prayers for your family.

I met Gilbert in the halls of Doyle Middle School,I was a mom outside or inside of the school waiting for the bell to ring,He was a very friendly and 1 of a kind Man.I also had my other daughter with me,and he always loved to play with her.He loved to tease her....he actually bought some sorda cookies from her,then when they came in i brought them to the school,and he was out on a sick leave,due to his illness,so i gave them to the office and they said they would get them to him.I always wondered how he was doing because we have not seen him ever since.Well.he is going to be sadly missed.My <3 goes out to his whole family,and i am glad he is not suffering any more.....

Gilbert.Gilbert.Gilbert. Childhood friend of mine. I'm remembering the projects and running in and out of the 'breeze way(s)' and how much fun we had, eh? Going to Mary's to buy a soda and chips. Sitting on the 'benches'. Doing absolutely Nothing! Smile.
To the family, Gilbert was a very special person. As I've remembered a time from our youth, your memories will be powerful, and loving and many. Thank God, many. He was a good person.
