Buck was my neighbor, friend, and hiking buddy. He was genuine, kind, and generous. He fought for our country's freedom!! And the best memory is him walking me down the aisle for my wedding and dancing the first dance. He is a kind soul who is now one of my many angels. My condolences to his very loving family.

My family all lived in Puerto Rico with the Bloomers. We lost track of everyone in the 60s when we moved to Albuquerque. But a few years ago, out of the blue, Buck, who was traveling through New Mexico, called my mother who was living alone here in Albuquerque. It was a great meeting and I know my Mom always treasured that short time that they could visit. I still remember all the fun times we had in Puerto Rico as kids growing up and Buck and Joanne along with my Mom and Dad, Don and Viola Altergott. Buck was a real hero to us all. So sorry to hear of his passing.

Buck was my next door neighbor for a long time and a better friend could not be found. He was always there wth a I helping hand, and just a phone call away. I miss him already.

Although we had been with Buck only a few times we were impressed with his humility. He certainly was a member of the greatest generation and may he forever rest in peace, he certainly earned it. God bless him.

I am thankful to have met Buck through the Tucson Chapter of the Battle of the Bulge group. He has shown incredible leadership through life experiences that most individuals can only imagine. Before honor there is humility, so we should thank God that such men have lived. May God bless his family now as they lay him to rest.

To the family of Mr. Bloomer, I have met some of you over the years!
I was a campanion to his neighbor "Margaret Lavin". I was also the person that would make "Banana Bread" for Miss Margaret too and make an extra one for Mr. Bloomer.
After Miss Margaret moved to Lisle, Ill. I would still take a loaf of Banana Bread to Mr. Bloomer. He always invited me in to chat and I loved our visits. I found him to be a charming man with a great sense of humor.
My love and prayers to all his family!
Sincerely, Linda Taylor :)

All of our Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge exemplify the meaning of "The Greatest Generation." Buck was a leader amongst them. He was a gentleman and a character. There's no frostbite in Heaven, Buck, enjoy!

Buck was always fun to be around. I loved being with Buck and the "FAM' has they are such a tight knit family that always make you feel welcome. Buck always had a hug for me and a smile on his face. He usually had a story to tell or a joke to tell . He was just so easy to be around. I will miss you Buck . Terri

When You feel Lonely
When a person you love passes away
Look to the night sky on a clear day.
The star that to you, appears to be bright,
Will be your loved one,
Looking upon you during the night.
The lights of heaven are what shows through
As your loved one watches all that you do.
When you feel lonely for the one that you love,
Look to the Heavens in the night sky above.
* If I remember correctly, Uncle Buck showed me a certificate given as a gift to him, that a star was named after him. If not, there should be one!

Uncle Buck was such a loved person in our lives. We cherished anytime spent with him! Our son's, Taj & Shad, were very fond of him as well. Our Uncle Buck was someone beyond special in this world. Always fun to be with, charming us with his stories and when in need, his wisdom. I loved our chats on the phone and always the ever faithful Christmas card inviting us to see him! He is a Great Man. We will forever remember him. I posted pictures in my previous entry from some of those great moments we remember. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
