Ulysess Grant "U.G." Rozell Jr.

Services for Ulysess Grant "U.G." Rozell Jr., 89, of Tyler will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Chris Pulliam and Bro. Tommy Weems officiating.
Burial will follow in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Rozell passed away March 24, 2014, at The Hospice of East Texas. He was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Tyler to the late U.G. and Dora Blair Rozell. U.G. was a member of University Church of Christ.
A graduate of Tyler High School, class of 1942 and Tyler Commercial College, Mr. Rozell was the owner of Henderson Glass Co. and was a prominent businessman in the community. He was a member of the Tyler Jaycees, Kiwanis Club and a Master Mason at St. John's Lodge, No. 53, as well as a lifelong resident of Tyler. He was also a veteran of the Army Air Corps, proudly serving his country during World War II as a navigator and radio operator.
Mr. Rozell enjoyed frequent trips to Colorado, fishing and hunting and spending time with his family. He also had a love for photography and always looked forward to the beautiful Azalea and Spring Flower Trail.
Mr. Rozell was preceded in death by his parents; his beautiful wife of 59 years, Allie Lorene Fox Rozell; sisters, Yvonne "Bonnie" Rozell Frazier and Cloetis Vickery of Tyler; and brother, Leonard Rozell, of Tyler.
Survivors include sons, Grant Rozell and wife Ann, of Chandler, David M. Rozell and wife Linda, of Tyler; daughter, Susan Hufstedler and husband Doug, of Crescent, Okla.; brothers, Clyde Rozell, of Jacksonville, Paul Rozell and wife Nancy, of Chandler; sister, Barbara Chambless and husband Harrell, of Katy; nine grandchildren, David G. Rozell, Amanda Rozell Bishop, Brian Bell, Kimberly Bell, Amy Rozell Maggard, Laurie Rozell, Sarah Hufstedler, Caleb Hufstedler and Alexi Hufstedler; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David G. Rozell, Gary Fox, Tommy Vickery, Jerry Don Vickery, Bobby Vickery and Lynn Rozell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Hufstedler, Brian Bell and Bobby Joe Rozell.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
Memorials may be given to a charity of your choice.
