I knew Dori when I work at the RDA from 1998-2001. She was so funny and we laughed. We also had heartfelt talks. I last saw Dori in Imperial Beach at the Sand Castle's....we both purchase decorative umbrellas (as it was so hot). I still have mine and when I use it, I will always think of her.
My deepest sympathy to the family. You all are in my prayers.

To Dori's family and friends.
It is so hard to believe that we have lost such a wonderful person. I got to know Dori when she and Debbie started coming down to Imperial Beach for our Sandcastle week-end celebrations. The friendship continued but really solidified when she came down to San Diego for alternative treatments. When she decided to go to TJ, we insisted that she stay with us, since Imperial Beach is so close to the border. It was crazy two ladies walking over the border trying to find the building where the doctor was located. We did laugh a lot but hated the wait at the border. She stayed with us for 6 weeks and we loved every day. This included my 60th birthday. She was a very special part of that day and I will never forget the wonderful time we had.
She and my son always talked about HD's that they were going to buy and go on long road trips. Because my son found out about Dori leaving us on the day he bought his new bike, he named it Dori. She really touched my son.
I wish we could be there this Saturday but I just got back from a long working stay in the LA area and don't think I can make it physically. I, too, am sick but nothing like our dear friend.
She is a wonderful role model to all of us when we feel the world is caving in. She never gave up. I will miss our talks.

Dear Dawn & Fam, Andy and all of the Guerreiro's...May God Bless you during these difficult times. I adored Dori and always enjoyed our conversations at family functions. I have always kept her in my prayers and will now keep all of you...As I read some of the messages on this guestbook, one mentioned about the Dori laugh..That makes me smile, because in my memory, I can hear that distinct laugh. Dori fought long and hard and did whatever she could to fight. For whatever reason, God had other plans for her. She will be watching over you all always. I will walk at Relay for Life in her honor this year and always.
You are all in my hearts and prayers

Dori,
So many of us looked forward to getting together to share our thoughts and memories of long - LONG - term friendships you fostered over your many years of working at the agency. I will never forget the trips we shared and the celebrations that would take place along these trips. I am going to miss your physical being, but will always think happily about the good times we spent together from Imperial Beach to Sacramento :)
I will remember how you seriously
wanted to take me over the border when I told you how the prospect made me feel. I am happy I got to know the [big] apple of your eye, your son. I am thrilled I finally got to meet your daughter of whom you were so proud. My favorite conversations revolved around our Pres girls! And I am glad I knew the little apples of your eye, those beautiful little grandchildren of yours. 20 years of memories Dori. A lifetime. The sparkling eyes when you laughed your Dori laugh. I told someone today that there were hundreds of times I have spent sitting along West Cliff and East Cliff and the boardwalk and those times will become more special in the future. I know I am going to miss you terribly my friend because of how I feel right now.
Until we meet again, love Lupe
