JESSIE SHORTER THOMAS (Age 100)  
On April 3, 2011, JESSIE SHORTER THOMAS of Silver Spring, Maryland died peacefully at Holy Cross Hospital. A proud Washingtonian and a former employee of the U.S. Government Printing Office, she lived in the District for over 90 years before relocating to Maryland. Her spouse, Charles W. Thomas, daughter, Bettyjane S. DuPree and siblings, Ransellear Shorter, John Shorter, Sr., Evelyn Johnson and Geneva Howard, preceded her in death. She is survived by her adoring granddaughter, Tracy DuPree Davis (Larry D. Davis); great-grandson, Justin K. Davis; beloved niece, Dolores Kiah; step-daughter, Harriet Dodson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to the Celebration of her Life on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Peoples Congregational United Church of Christ, 4704-13th St., N.W., Washington, DC 20011. Viewing at 10 a.m. and funeral at 11 a.m. Interment at Harmony Memorial Park, Landover, MD. Arrangements by McGuire.
