AMCHAN RUTH SEEWALD AMCHAN (Age 95) On Sunday, May 3, 2009 in Arlington, VA. Beloved wife of the late Morris Amchan (Amchanitzky); daughter of the late Joseph Seewald and Fannie Greenhut Seewald; sister of the late Hattie Buchsbaum, Lillie Anesh, Esther Wisoff, Evelyn Zukor and Abraham Seewald. Survived by brother, Monte Seewald of New York; loving mother of Harriet Sonja Schultz (David) and Arthur J. Amchan (Susan); beloved grandmother of Jonathan Schultz of New York, Benjamin Schultz of Virginia, Joseph Schultz of California, Steven Amchan of Virginia, Adele Peterson (Carl) of California and Nathan Amchan of Ohio. Mrs. Amchan was Bursar of the District of Columbia Teachers College and its predecessor, Wilson Teachers College, from 1954 until her retirement in 1969. Graveside service on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 3 p.m. at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA. Shiva service 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday at 6528 Windermere Cir., Rockville, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to the Northern Virginia Chapter of Hadassah. Arrangements by JEFFERSON FUNERAL CHAPEL, Alexandria, VA.
