Lyle Dean Ingram

MOUNT STERLING, Ill. -- Lyle Dean Ingram, 85, of Mount Sterling, died at 8:45 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 30, 2010) in the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mount Sterling.

He was born April 16, 1925, in Brown County, a son of James H. and Eva B. Tolle Ingram. He married Clara Myrtle Frances Kendrick on Dec. 16, 1945, in Mount Sterling, and she died June 10, 2004.

Mr. Ingram had worked for Prairie Farms Creamery in Mount Sterling, Oscar Mayer in Beardstown and Buckley Auto Parts in Mount Sterling.

He attended Brown County Schools and was a member of the Mount Sterling Odd Fellows Lodge.

Mr. Ingram was a master gardener who loved sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends.

Survivors include four children, Thelma Joyce Waters of Quincy, Virginia Belle Ingram of Mount Sterling, Charles D. Ingram of Timewell and Billy Ray Ingram of Camden; three brothers, Dallas Ingram of Carthage, Jessie Ingram of Quincy and Harrison Ingram of Mount Sterling; 12 grandchildren, Joshua, Dan, Cindy, Frances, James, Kimberly, Wendy, Joseph, Cristina, Michael, Sky and Destiny; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Lyle Eugene Ingram; and two brothers, Lozelle and Forrest Ingram.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Monday in the Hendricker Funeral Home, Mount Sterling, with the Rev. Tom Waters conducting. Burial will be in Hersman Cemetery, south of Mount Sterling.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. until time of services Monday in the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: Hersman Cemetery Association or Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
