Josefa Reyes Obituary

Josefa O. Reyes CHESAPEAKE - Josefa Olmo "Lucy" Reyes, 91, of the 2200 block of Locks Landing Crescent, passed away Oct. 22, 2009, in Sentara Nursing Center, Oak Grove, Chesapeake. Lucy was born in the Philippines March 19, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Maximo Olmo and Sobera Dilig Olmo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mariano Reyes; a brother and two sisters; and her three children, Celso Reyes, Norma Magcalas and Violeta de la Cruz. Lucy is survived by four daughters, Carmelita Knoll (Philip) of Chesapeake, Rose James of Savannah, Ga., Rosario Trias (Rey) and Cris Reyes, both of California; nine grandchildren, Christina James, Kirk James, Analy Magcalas, Belinda Magcalas, Aries Knoll, Anthony Knoll, Rhean Trias, Rechelle Trias, Reginald Trias; brother and two great-grandchildren. Lucy lived a full and active life. Her constant smile and laugh will be missed by all. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Portsmouth. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Oct. 27, Tuesday, in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 24 Afton Parkway, Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Angels Church Maintenance and Repair Fund. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Please share your love and condolences with the family at the church Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. for a wake. The family will assemble at the church Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. Fisher Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. www.fisherfuneral.com.
