Anne Wunderle Obituary

Anne V. Wunderle PORTSMOUTH - Anne Vaughan Wunderle, 81, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010. She was a native of Newport News, a member of Western Branch Baptist Church where she had been active in the Fidelis Sunday school class and the Young at Heart. She belonged to the WMU, City wide Senior Baptist Choir. Anne was a registered nurse beginning her career at Medical College of Virginia as a polio nurse then she moved to Portsmouth and began working at Maryview in 1949 until retiring. She was predeceased by her parents, Martha Anne and Randall Beverley Vaughan. She is survived by her two daughters, Becky Wunderle, Grace Barnes and her husband George; son, James Martin Wunderle II and his wife Jill; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Randall B. Vaughan and his wife Etta; and special friends, Nancy Vaughan, Eddie Rawls, Ruth And Larry West, Joy and Haskins Coleman. A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by Dr. Walter Black and Sr. Grace. The visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 1 p.m. The family suggests memorial contribution to Emily Green Shores Assisted Living, 500 Westmoreland Ave., Portsmouth, VA 23707.
