Marie Tynes Martin CHESAPEAKE - Marie Tynes Martin, 77, of the 4000 block of Scotia Drive, departed this life Aug. 28, 2010. Marie was the oldest of six, born to the late Joseph Tynes and Hattie Revells in Churchland, Va. She was predeceased by her son, Larry Martin. She was retired from Balaban's Restaurant in 1986 with 25 years of service. Also, she was retired from Quality Daycare in 2008 with 15 years of service. She is survived by her husband, Edward Martin of Chesapeake; two sons, James E. Tynes Sr. (Marjean) and Charles Tynes (Joyce); one daughter, Edwina M. Griffin (Gary) all of Virginia; two sisters, Esther Baskerville (Foster) of Norfolk and Armetria Vickers of Chesapeake; one brother, Calvert Tynes (Leah) of Chesapeake; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. She will be loved and missed by all. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Jerusalem Baptist Church, 718 Tidewater Drive. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake.
