David Dixon Obituary

David W. Dixon Sr. NORFOLK - Retired Capt. David W. Dixon Sr., 92, passed away on Sept. 23, 2010. Born in Morehead City, N.C., he was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Dorothy Dixon and by a son, Billy L. Dixon. He is survived by four daughters, Ruby, Frances (Cookie), Pauline (Sugie) and Barbara; three sons, David, Johnny and Randy Dixon Sr.; 10 grandchildren; and countless great-grandchildren and other family members. He served honorably for the Army/Air Force during World War II. He was captain at Harrison's Charter Boat Service for 56 years and retired as the captain of the Dixie Lee II charter boat. A memorial service will be held Monday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Ocean View Pier (formerly Harrison's Pier) with Pastor Charles Stover officiating. Cremation & Funeral Services of Tidewater is handling arrangements.
