Charles Lanfranchi Obituary

Charles Lanfranchi VIRGINIA BEACH - Charles Natale Lanfranchi, 87, passed away peacefully Oct. 26, 2010 in a local hospital. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Lanfranchi served our country proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a civilian employee of the Navy until his retirement in 1980. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy Barnes Lanfranchi; three children, Charles N. Lanfranchi Jr. and wife Sandra, Kimberly Lanfranchi Cohen and husband Barry, and Jody A. Lanfranchi and wife Rita; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Destroyer Escort Historical Museum, P.O. Box 1926, Albany, NY 12201 or the charity of your choice. Please share your love and condolences with the family at www.kellumfuneralhome.com.

Charlie was my exercise buddy. He always encouraged me and his smiles and hugs meant so much to me. I was always delighted to see him and when I didn't show up, he would say "Where have you been, gal?" Always asked about my family and my mom. I will miss him very much.
